How to join our futsal sessions: a guide for families
Joining something new in a new country can feel complicated. Our process isn't. Here's everything a family needs to know.
Step 1 — Reach out
Fill out the membership form or email info@katebyouthcommunity.com. Tell us your youth's name, age, and city. That's all we need to start.
Step 2 — We send you the details
We'll reply with the current schedule, gym location, and a short registration form (emergency contact, health notes, and a photo consent choice — you can say no to photos and still play).
Step 3 — Just show up
No equipment needed for the first sessions: indoor shoes and comfortable clothes are enough. No experience needed either — our coaches adapt every session to who shows up. Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
What it costs
Nothing, or close to nothing. Our programs are free or subsidized, and no youth is ever turned away for inability to pay. If your family can contribute, it helps us keep it free for everyone else — but it is never required.
Common questions
My child doesn't speak much English. That's exactly who we're here for — many coaches and players speak multiple languages, and futsal needs no translation.
Is it safe? All volunteers working with youth complete a criminal record check through the BC Criminal Records Review Program, and a first-aid-trained volunteer is at every session.
See you on the court.
